It is not rare for the period to become irrigular once or twice in a year, therefore dont worry, I advise you to observe the period for another week, if it does not come, do a blood pregnancy test, if negative and you dont want to waite any longer for the period to come on its own, your doctor may give you some tablets to bring your period. It seems that this fibroid was present when you got pregnant the first time!, we have to know the site of the fibroid to advise you if it may affect your chances of pregnancy or not. This is a small fibroid, if it is not causing problems such as pain during the period , heavey period, I advise you to observe it and ask your doctor to perform an ultrasound scan every year to see if it increases in size. Metronidazole ( Flagyl) is the first line treatment, usually for 7 days. We encourage pregnant women to avoid medicines during pregnancy as much as possible, however, because the advantages of taking Flagyl for this condition is more than theoretical risks of causing problem, your wife may take it.
