Hi. Antidepressants can cause elevation in the prolactin hormone. But fortunately the degree of elevation is only mild. The high TSH needs further work up. I suggest that u should do thyroid antibodies (TPO blood test) and thyroid ultrasound. If the antibodies are positive and or if the scan shows that ur thyroid is irregular in shape then u should start taking thyroxine.  Otherwise a 1 more confirmatory result is needed before thyroxine initiation. It is also advisable to take glucophage as this medicine can prevent weight gain induced by oral antidepressants. Hope u find it useful.

Hi. U r spot on. During pregnancy the requirement for thyroxine increases to meet the demand of growing baby. We usually advise pregnant woman to increase the dose by 30 to 50 percent of pre pregnancy dose. We also ask them to repeat blood tests after 1 month. Hope u find it useful.

Hi. U need to repeat the thyroid hormone blood test. If the results shows that the thyroid hormone is high then u have to reduce the dose of thyroxine and if it is normal then u have to go for further blood tests to determine the cause of ur symptoms. Hope u find it useful.

Hi. Yes the the ultrasound shows that u have a big nodule in the left side of ur thyroid gland and hence it is advisable to do a biopsy. Based on the report there is a high chance that we are going to get a benign result. Hope u find it useful.
